Seventh grade has given me many fun memories, but here are three. The first day of school is probably one of my favorite times of the year because it represents a fresh opportunity for better grades, new teachers, new subjects, and most importantly for a positive experience. After summer the first day of school allows me to reconnect with my friends. Lastly, it gives me the opportunity to start a new routine. My next favorite part of the school year is when I graduate. First I am excited to see the human I really become and the achievements I have made. It represents hard work, dedication, and accomplishment. I also enjoy when I graduate because it gives me an opportunity for higher education, experience different paths in life, and lastly for room to grow. Lastly, why I like to graduate is because it leads into summer where I can have fun and be a child again! I can enjoy the trips I go on, hanging out with my friends and family, and most of all getting to be more active and excited to do things during the summer. My last part of my favorite school year memory would be my Wood Shop class. I have made so many projects that I got to take home and enjoy with my family! My favorite project I made was the cutting board. Wood Shop has taught me to come out of my fears and realize how tough I can be. Lastly, It has taught me to be a better person from watching the videos that we shed tears on wednesday. Overall 7th grade has been a great year! Although I am excited to move on to 8th grade.
20% Project Week 6
For my 20% project week 6 I wanted to make my final 4 bracelets for my presentation board. I wanted to make this bracelet smooth with no complications and to have all adjustments that I made in blog number 5 fixed. After several attempts, I was able to successfully make Pura Vida bracelets. I learned the length should always be around 8 inches to start. This length should fit comfortably on most wrists. After working with the wax coated string several times and attempting to make bracelets, I became more comfortable with how the string feels and how to work with the string. I watched several videos on how to burn the wax string after I had trouble burning the wax coated string into a knot. I learned that the string needs to be placed in the blue part of the flame of a lighter. This melts the wax into a clear coat instead of burning the wax coated string and lighting it on fire. I was never successful at twisting the tails. I could not figure out how to make the string stay twisted. I made several attempts at this step and I was unsuccessful. So, I decided to make an adjustment and made my own version of the original Pura Vida bracelet. I decided to leave the tails untied.I was able to successfully complete my 20% project! I learned not to give up when things are difficult. I also learned to have a positive mindset when attempting something new. Trying something new can be hard, but it can be very rewarding in the long run.
What Are My Favorite Rooms
The two rooms in my home that are my favorite are the kitchen and my bedroom.First I love my room because after a long day I like to just fall asleep. My bead is very comfortable, almost like it’s a cloud in the sky. After I wake up from my nap I feel so much better taking a nap in a quiet place with no distractions. Next, when I am in my room I like to be on my phone. I like to have conversations with my friends and to be able to watch tick-tocks, and movies. Lastly, I like being in my room because I have freedom to do what I want to do at any time. My room is super beachy and sporty. My walls are blue, and my furniture is Manley wood. I also like to be in my kitchen. I like to be in my kitchen because I feel kind of free of multiple things I can do, first I can cook! I love to cook! It’s my favorite thing to do! It lets my stress go and I cook my favorite food that I can enjoy! Next, I love to talk and when people come over for a day we Manley hang out in the kitchen so that we can talk to them and get to know them a bit more. Finally, my tv and my coach are out there and as you know me I hate movies unless they are in the movie theater but, I love tv shows so I love to relax, eat, and enjoy! I can’t wait for more days that I can spend lots of time in my bedroom and my kitchen!
20% Project Week 4
Hello my name is Paige, for my 20% project week four I am doing Pura Vida Bracelets. This week my goal was to finish up selling my Pura vida bracelets. This went really well! I made lots of great money. I made 50 dollars selling 5 bracelets for 10! My Neighborhood loves to support me and I could have kept going but I wanted to save some bracelets so I could show you on my presentation day. I only had one problem. It was a really hot day to sell and I had no water so I was super dehydrated but trust me it was worth it! Me and my friends selling the bracelets had lots of fun together which is the most important part! I can’t wait to share my hard earned money to some really amazing children’s hospitals! In week 5 I will be explaining my journey about giving my hard earned money to a children’s hospital. I really hope they do let me! These children deserve it! This project has really been joyful and fun to do. It has taught me to be a willing person and to always never give up but to work hard and to have fun while doing it!
20% Project Week 3
Hello my name is Paige, for my 20% project week three I am doing Pura Vida Bracelets. This week my goal was to finish up making my Pura vida bracelets and professionalize them so I could take pictures of the ones I would sell for 20% project week four. This went super easy sailing! There were only two problems but very little problems. First, I forgot to get the charms I needed to specifically say that I made them like Pura Vida bracelets that have a P. My second problem I could not fix throughout this project was making the top strings on my bracelets next to my square knots twist so I had to just leave it alone. This week I have fixed all the problems I did not just recently say that was in week two. First was to make the black go away on the strings I had to pull together. All I used was a nail file. Secondly for making the strings longer I just used a ruler and made the inches longer where I cut for my final bracelets. These problems were not so problematic they were really easy to fix. For taking my pictures I did a water background out in my backyard over my pool. I did this because Pura Vida bracelets are waterproof and beachy people that want to look fancy while getting wet like surfers are always in the water. That’s why this background made sense. It was the perfect day to do this because it was not windy so the camera could focus more. My goal was to take photos so I could sell them but I also have bracelets to show to my class, not just handy bracelets I have around. This week was the easiest week I have had in a long time! I love doing this project! See you next time in week four where I will be explaining how my selling weekend went!
20% Project Week 1
Hello my name is Paige, for my 20% project I am doing Pura Vida Bracelets. This week my goal was to learn how to navigate the search engine, so I can find a perfect website that could support me through making my Pura Vida Bracelets! I needed to have step by step directions, and we’re to get the supplies and what supplies I need! Luckily this was not too hard to find!
https://www.adventuresofadiymom.com/2022/11/how-to-make-wax-cord-bracelet-pura-vida.html?m=1
Here was the link I used! This girl is really successful and supportive. I feel like I could use this link for support when I make my Pura Vida bracelets! Although sadly, I did go through a couple problems, when I first started there were not many links I could trust and they were not helpful. But, I did not give up and I kept trying, and kept changing the sentence I put in the search web. And that’s when I found the website above! And it worked! I am so happy to be in a comfortable place! My next step is to start making a bracelet! I am going to go through the video slowly and right down a list for the store that I need to get for making my Pura Vida bracelets. Which would be wax string, charms (if wanted), scissors, Ruler, and lastly a lighter! After I get all of this stuff I will be good to go! And start attempting to make my bracelets! I am really glad I chose making Bracelets as my project! I can already tell this will be a fun project! See you next time at 20% project week 2!
My 3 Dinner Guests
If I could invite 3 people to my dinner I would invite the Outer Banks family, Morgan Wallen, and lastly Maddie Musselman. I am going to first talk about Morgan Wallen and why I would be interested in him coming to dinner with me. I could learn more about Morgan Wallens songwriting and process. I am just a big fan of him, so for me too here some of his Country songs in person in the front row seat is crazy! Something I would never expect! Lastly, I would like to write a song together that I could remember forever! Or maybe he can sing one of his newest songs that has not come out yet! Next I would invite The Outer Banks characters, Outer Banks is a popular Netflix show that I am a fan of! I have watched all the episodes and seasons! It’s incredibly awesome watching the characters and their storylines. I would like to learn more about their experiences on set and to hear behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the show. I want to learn more about their personalities and motivations. Finally, I might want to discuss with the actors, for a future project! Maybe even making a show together! Lastly, I would like to invite Maddie Musselman to dinner. Maddie is an Olympic gold medalist and one of the most successful water polo players in the world. I want to learn more about her journey to becoming an Olympian and to hear her stories about competing in the Olympics. Maybe she can even teach me some tricks that I could use in the water. Lastly, I want to learn more about her training regimen and the sacrifices she made to achieve her goals. These are my people I would invite to dinner! I hope one day this truly does happen!
A Fun Spring Break Weekend
This spring break I had an ODP (Olympic Development) water polo tournament so the whole week I was getting ready and getting focused for the big days ahead! ODP is a water polo tournament where the top girls from our country SOCAl all come together and create an all star team. And from that camp they pick five people from each zone. So the top seven people from your team out of about twenty four kids will make it to NTSC from every zone. NTSC (the National Selection camp) And after that they pick twenty four kids out of 60 kids from all the different zones to a really cool trip like Hawaii. They pick the best kids that stand out the most. Everything stacks up on each other. It is very fun to compete with the best people around. The whole point of ODP is to get your name out so people know who you are and so the Olympic team coaches for waterpolo can choose their next generation of people. So, This weekend our team won the whole tournament, and from that turnement me and my other teammates started the game so 6 other people went to NTSC! I am so excited for this trip with my team! One day I hope to be an olympian!
What I Want To Be When I Grow Up
When I get older the job I have always wanted to be is an orthopedic that helps people with their smile! Here are 3 reasons why first, I have passion for Improving Oral Health. Orthodontists work to correct misaligned teeth and jaws, which can lead to improved dental health, better speech, and a more attractive smile. Next, I will have an opportunity to be creative. Orthodontics is a field that requires a high level of strong decisions and attention to detail. Work to design and apply braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances. Which seems really artistic. Lastly, because there are good financial Rewards. Orthodontists earn a higher salary than general dentists, and it is effective in later life because when you do so many years you can go on to do family and friends, maybe even putting braces on me for free! Even some of the orthodontics that work for so many years you can get paid your whole life without working because you did good deeds! One day I hope to be an Orthodontist!
Invisibility
If I was invisible for twenty-four hours I would use that time to skip out of school and to go on a vacation. I would go to Bora-Bora. My day would start out as me getting up in the morning and going to my favorite breakfast place and then going straight to the airport! I would sneak in a private airplane! And the private airplane would have lots of famous people like Morgan Wallen that played songs to us the whole time, and a really cool environment inside. When I arrived I was shocked it took so little compared to traveling in a regular airplane! I was shocked when I walked out of the airplane it looked like a true paradise! I would go straight to a hike to get my mind off of traveling and to get fresh air, lush green mountains, to explore around and then I would go for a swim in hidden waterfalls, and walk along the secluded beaches. I could observe the local wildlife, like tropical birds and fish, without making them go away. Next, after I oversee and check the area I would stay in for a day I would visit the overwater bungalows. Bora Bora is famous for its luxurious overwater bungalows, and I would sneak into some of them to see how the people live. I would also get one for myself to sleep in before I have to go home the next day. I would admire the stunning views of the crystal-clear lagoon and the surrounding islands, and watch the sunrise and sunset over the water. The bungalows are like a really pretty, private house so rounded by want. And instead of having a backyard it’s water! The waves are really nice so you could go surfing. After I get to my bungalow and unload my outfits for all the different activities. I would go on a long relaxing scuba dive. Bora Bora is known for its vibrant marine life, and you could explore the coral gardens and swim with schools of colorful fish. I would stay close to the surface of the water and no farther. Next, I would sneak into a traditional Polynesian dance show. I could witness the island’s traditional dance and music performances. Lastly, I would enjoy all the local food, shopes, and restaurants! Bora Bora has a variety of delicious seafood, especially their sauced shrimp, tropical fruits, drinks, and some American food we eat here. Overall, if I was invisible on a vacation at Bora Bora, I could have a true, unforgettable experience, while still respecting the privacy and culture of the local people.
